Terms of use

Short version: be honest, be one person, and understand that Rootwork is a directory and community, not a party to any purchase or booking you make. The longer version follows.

Your account

One account per person. Keep your sign-in email accurate. You are responsible for what is posted under your handle. Business identities (for vendors and stylists) are separate from personal accounts and subject to verification.

Reviews

• Reviews must describe your own genuine experience. First-hand, not "my friend said".
• Honest negative reviews are welcome. State facts as facts and opinions as opinions.
• No fabricated reviews, no reviewing your own business or a competitor's, no accepting payment for reviews.
• Businesses get a right of reply. We may remove content that is fabricated, abusive, discriminatory, or unlawful, and repeated abuse ends the account.

What the directory is and is not

Vendor and stylist information is community-sourced and provided in good faith, but Rootwork does not verify every detail and is not a party to any order, payment or booking. Always confirm prices, payment methods and terms directly with the vendor or stylist before sending money. A listing on Rootwork is not an endorsement, and reviews are the opinions of their authors.

Your content

You own what you post. By posting a review or public content you give Rootwork a licence to display it on the platform. Your diary, shelf and saves are private and are not covered by that licence.

Acceptable use

No scraping or bulk-extracting the directory, no attempting to bypass access controls, no harassment of members or businesses, no spam. The gated parts of the platform are gated deliberately.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@rootwork.hair. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and will say why.

The legal frame

Rootwork is provided as-is while in beta; we work hard on accuracy and uptime but cannot guarantee either. To the extent the law allows, Rootwork is not liable for losses arising from transactions with third parties found through the platform. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
